DJ Ausar (Cali, Atlanta)

I took a different approach and decided to have ALL eyes on the person I am interviewing. Big ups to the Kalakuta show with DJ Ausar on WRFG 89.3. Let's go!

deephouseATL. interviews Carlos Mena (Ocha Records/Yoruba Records)

Such an honor interviewing this gentleman. Always show Love whenever he rolls through Atlanta or when I see him. Tell the lady I said what's up! My good friend, Carlos Mena.

P.S.- When you gonna bust out some Soca again?! Juust asking. Love.

DJ Sabine and A Lady Named Pearl

It is amazing to see women in the movement. I had the chance of catching DJ Sabine spin at Brooklyn Mecca during the Winter Music Conference and A Lady Named Pearl during Afrique Electrique (ATL REPRESENT!). Phenomenal indeed!

Winter Music Conference 2011

This conference OFFICIALLY blew me away. The amount of energy that was received amongst all who attended is nothing but extraordinary. I am still going through footage and interviews. They will be up next week. I have to put a few pictures up of the amazing individuals I met while down there:

My favorite events of WMC are: Brooklyn Mecca with Ian Friday and DJ Sabine, Afrique Electrique (Big ups ATL for shutting it down) with Salah Ananse, Dave K, Kemit, Daz-I-Kue, Wasabi and so many others. Of course the TRIBE Party with Ian Friday, Zepherin Saint, Carlos Mena, DJ Spinna and Kristelle Morin. The South African Miami Invasion Party shut it down. I lost my damn voice and had to end up using a whistle for the rest of the event. Culoe De Song, FeU, DJ Fresh, Nick Holder and Black Coffee all deserve big ups. The performances from: Q, Roland Clark, Chappell, Zakes Bantwini, Bucie, Vikter Duplaix and so many others really made my trip worth it.

Next year will be on point as well. Atlanta represented well and showed everyone that we can do it like anyone else can. Until then my fellow House heads...
